It was only a matter of time until we saw more ATM manufacturers pay attention to Bitcoin Cash. This Bitcoin hard fork has successfully found its place in the market, and consumers are demanding more convenient ways to both buy and sell BCH these days. Lamassu is paying close attention, and it’s enabled Bitcoin Cash support for all of its ATMs around the world. It is a big step forward for both the company and for Bitcoin Cash.
Cryptocurrency ATM manufacturers all over the world have been working on adding support for currencies other than Bitcoin. A fair few ATMs around the globe already support currencies such as Litecoin, Dash, and even Ethereum. Adding Bitcoin Cash to this list makes a lot of sense, as it is the world’s third-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization right now. Moreover, there appears to be a growing demand for convenient access to BCH aside from exchanges or brokers.
It is good to see prominent Bitcoin ATM manufacturers such as Lamassu acknowledge this demand exists and offer a viable solution. The company rolled out a new software update enabling Bitcoin Cash support on all of its existing and future machines. Considering that Lamassu is one of the leading Bitcoin ATM manufacturers in the world today, its support could prove invaluable to BCH supporters. With over 250 Lamassu machines out there, Bitcoin Cash will be getting more exposure in the coming months.
It is evident that obtaining specific cryptocurrencies in a convenient manner remains a big challenge, even in 2017. Consumers prefer convenience over a lengthy and annoying verification process. Paying with cash at a Bitcoin ATM makes a lot more sense in this regard, even though there are high fees associated with the process. Most consumers don’t seem to mind paying a premium to obtain small amounts of cryptocurrency.
It is not the first time an ATM manufacturer has decided to roll out support for Bitcoin Cash either. Although Lamassu is a very significant name in the industry, it was beaten to the punch by BitcoinPlug. Although the latter firm is only a small player, its 21 LA-based Bitcoin ATMs have BCH support as well. Moreover, General Bytes seems intent on integrating support for this altcoin as well. It is another major ATM manufacturer with dozens of machines located all over the world.
With all of this support for BCH rolling in, it is evident this altcoin will continue to bring the fight to Bitcoin. While the world’s leading cryptocurrency is not at all threatened in terms of its value or market capitalization, no one should dismiss Bitcoin Cash either. Its community continues to grow and people genuinely like what this currency offers right now. Whether any of this will result in market gains for BCH remains to be determined, though.
ATM manufacturers have been rolling out altcoin support for some time now. It is only a matter of time until we see more of these alternative currencies added to teller machines. Bitcoin is not the only cryptocurrency worth keeping an eye on these days, as a lot of things are changing in this industry. Every currency in the top 15 offers something one can’t find in Bitcoin itself, and they are all fighting to defend their place in the world of cryptocurrency.
