The Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce along with the NWA Technology Council hosted the second annual Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit.
This year it was host to some premier technology, and hosted Microsoft CEO Kevin Turner, who was a keynote speaker at the summit.
Experts and students alike enjoyed this year’s event with rave reviews:
It’s a really good experience. A lot of knowledgeable people and cool technology like VR, seminars on drones, so much variety and free stuff, NW Tech student Daniel Barrientos stated.
This year the summit was host to all kinds of training seminars in agriculture, education, business solutions, health care, transportation, and the latest technology out.
NW Tech Instructor Lisa Holland said:
Great opportunity provided by the educational scholarship and we were able to bring eight students and two instructors. They were able to network with potential employers, potential jobs and interact with IT professionals.
Other speakers on the bill included Dr. John Cohn of IBM, Andy Schuch, Dana Sargent Schlagenhaft, and Dr. Ramesh Gopinath, also of IBM; among others were speakers at this year’s summit.
One other notable event to take place at the summit this year included worldwide mega monster Walmart.
Director of Walmart Lab 415-C said:
As part of Walmart Technology, Lab 415-C actively seeks to engage emerging technology in order to better understand how to serve our customers. Our goal in the event is not only to offer these companies a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but to keep Walmart on the cutting edge of technology.
