KeepKey vs Trezor vs Ledger Nano

Bitcoin Hardware wallets are a hot product as they are much secure than traditional software wallets. A Hardware wallet stores the private keys aka your bitcoins on the device itself instead of on your computer in a file. As a result, you reduce the attack surface for a hacker to try and steal your coins.

Even if your computer is compromised with a keylogger and a RAT (Remote Access Tool), if your Bitcoins are secured by one of these hardware wallets your funds will stay safe.

The below video not only goes over the different features between the hardware wallets, but also showcases which wallets are more durable when put to the test.

Price Comparison

To start off, the cheapest wallet is the Ledger Nano, it costs $35.00 on Amazon and you can even get a duo edition which will include 2 ledger nano wallets one to serve as an extra backup. Feature wise the Ledger Nano is almost identical to the Trezor and the KeepKey, but the ledger nano lacks a screen. That is a major reason why the wallet is so much cheaper than the rest. The Ledger team is working on a brand new wallet the Ledger Blue which received approval from the French Minister of Economy

The KeepKey, previously priced at $239 is currently priced at only $99, quite a discount! It includes a sleek design with a crisp screen, it’s design makes it more fragile so be careful of dropping it. Checkout our Complete KeepKey Review here.

Last but not least is the Trezor, it comes at $139 slightly more expensive than the KeepKey. However, not only do you get a screen with the Trezor, but you also get amazing durability. During our drop test, the Trezor sustained absolutely no damage unlike the other 2 wallets. Checkout our Complete Trezor Review here.

Conclusion

Overall, the Trezor is by far the most durable wallet. On the other hand, the Ledger Nano provides mostly the same features but costs one fourth the price. Finally, the KeepKey does provide an exceptional sleek design for an affordable price, but it is a bit more fragile. For a full comparison of hardware and software wallets checkout our Bitcoin Wallets Comparison
