Chances are that Microsoft Office 365 represents one of the world’s most popular applications, found on millions of computers from all around the world.
According to recent reports, it seems like Microsoft has chosen to take yet another step in the right direction to promote the digital currency. The Office 365 roadmap lists a couple of updates that will soon be available to subscribers.
With this in mind, something known as Bitcoin Currency Format Support will be offered for Excel 2016 users. This means that users will be able to use Excel to analyse and track bitcoin-based data, using a couple of number formatting options. There are a few other updates in store, which have been categorized as launched, in development, rolling out, previously released and cancelled.
By taking a look at these, Microsoft’s steady approach to support Bitcoin’s growing popularity can be noticed. The Bitcoin Currency Format Support feature for Excel is currently in development and is bound to work for Excel on Windows, Excel Mobile, Excel for Android and Excel Mobile for Windows.
Not long ago, Microsoft has mistakenly made an announcement regarding the removal of bitcoin support from the Windows Store. Shortly after, they stated that the announcement was a mistake, and that bitcoin support will continue.
