Editorial & Advertising Policy
This page explains how The Merkle produces, reviews, and labels content. It is meant for readers, partners, and search engines who need a clear record of our editorial controls.
Editorial standards
The Merkle publishes first-party, human-curated news and analysis. Our editorial team researches, writes, and reviews the stories we publish. We aim for accurate, well-sourced reporting and clear distinction between news, analysis, and opinion.
- Stories should be based on verifiable sources and attributed where appropriate
- Headlines and framing should reflect the underlying facts, not hype
- Editorial judgment is independent of advertisers and outside publishers
Corrections
If we publish a material error, we correct it. Readers can report mistakes by emailing contact@themerkle.com. When a correction is warranted, we update the article and note the change when the correction is significant.
No third-party publishing
Third-party entities do not have direct access to publish on The Merkle. Outside contributors, partners, and advertisers cannot self-publish into our CMS. All content that appears on this site goes through our editorial review before publication.
Advertising & sponsored content
The Merkle may occasionally publish sponsored or partner content. When we do:
- Sponsored or partner content must be clearly labeled as such for readers
- Paid placement must not be presented as independent editorial news
- Commercial outbound links in sponsored content should carry appropriate disclosure (such as
rel="sponsored") - Sponsored content does not override our editorial standards or grant third parties direct publishing access
