As of 3/12/16 10:14 PM PST BTC-E’s withdrawals are broken and trading is suspended. The last trade has been made at 10:14PM PST which is right about the time that the exchange broke.
The exchange is still accessible and the trollbox still works. Customers are able to view their balance but are greeted with an error message reading ‘db error’ when trying to withdraw funds. Do not panic yet, when taking a look at BTC-E’s hotwallet through WalletExplorer we can see that there haven’t been any large withdrawals from the exchange.
This isn’t the first time that BTC-E is facing issues. Just earlier this week the exchange went down due to an expired SSL certificate, but was back up and running in under 24 hours.
UPDATE:
BTC-E just went offline and posted the following on twitter: “Внеплановые технические работы в ДЦ, возможны перебои в работе #btce” Translated to English it means: “unplanned maintenance in the datacenter, possible disruption of service ahead.
UPDATE 2:
The exchange is back online after a roughly 10 hour maintenance window. All balances show up as normal and withdrawals are working.
