Bitcoin Users Can Soon Rent Over 100 Lionsgate Movies Through Steam

A lot of people are well aware of how Steam will start integrating Bitcoin payments in the very near future, which is an exciting development for cryptocurrency users. But the good news doesn’t end there, as a new deal between Valve and Lionsgate will bring roughly 100 top movies to the Steam platform, which should be available for purchase with Bitcoin as well.

Steam and Lionsgate Join Forces

Even though Steam has been offering movie rentals for quite some time now, the selection has always been relatively limited, to say the least. That situation will be coming to change soon, though, as a recent deal between Valve and Lionsgate will bring over 100 of its movies on this marketplace platform, available to users all over the world.

According to the official information, several top movie titles are part of this deal, including the Saw, Twilight, and Hunger Games collections. Users will be able to rent the movies for 48 hours, during which they can view the movie an unlimited amount of times. Depending on which movie one wants to rent, the price will be between US$4 and US$5 per movie.

Considering how this service will be available to users all over the world, Steam is bringing a lot of additional appeal to their platform. Although not everyone would think of renting a movie through Steam, it is an exciting addition, to say the least. What is even more interesting is how Bitcoin can be used for these movie rentals.

The announcement of Steam integrating Bitcoin payments in the next client release has been floating around on the Internet for quite some time now. However, this information was recently confirmed by one of their representatives, although no release date for the new client has been released just yet.

Having the option to rent Lionsgate movies through Steam with Bitcoin is a significant milestone for all parties involved. Although the number of movies is still relatively limited, this sets an interesting precedent for other movie companies who may be looking to partner with Valve in the future.
