We’ve been covering a wide variety of metaverse coins the last couple days. There are many teams working on a variety different projects, all trying to compete for their share of the Metaverse hype. In this article, we will explain why Decentraland the best Metaverse coin, and how it outshines its competitors.
To make sure we’re all on the same page, Decentraland is a 3D virtual blockchain-based universe that allows users to buy plots of lands, customize them, and interact with other players in the metaverse. Anybody can access Decentraland right now, and explore their virtual world.
Decentraland also features a token called MANA, which is used as the currency in their virtual world and allows you to interact with the ecosystem.
There are a few reason as to why Decentraland is just better than any other Metaverse projects.
The first reason is the fact that Decentraland is an actual 3D Metaverse. There are many projects out there that claim to have a “metaverse,” but all they have to offer is an elementary 2D world that extremely limited, and feels more like an early 90s game than a Metaverse cryptocurrency project in 2021.
It seems that many projects don’t understand the difference between GameFi and Metaverse. Just because you’ve made a 2D trading card game with your NFT collection, doesn’t mean your project is the next big Metaverse token.
The second reason Decentraland is the real deal, is the fact that the hype surrounding this project is based on reality, not speculation.
I’ve never been a big fan of projects that build momentum solely based on hype. A perfect example is The Sandbox, that currently has half of Decentraland’s valuation without even having released a working product. The Sandbox just seems like a Decentraland clone that’s a bit late to the party.
Apart from The Sandbox, I haven’t seen any other projects even come close to being considered a Decentraland competitor.
What’s crazy is even Axie Infinity, which is supposedly the number one Metaverse project with over $7.7 billion valuation, has an underwhelming 2D battle arena that they call their “metaverse”
Decentraland is the only project on the market that has a true virtual explorable Metaverse. Moreover, since Decentraland launched in February 2020, its eons ahead its competitors like The Sandbox, which haven’t even released their alpha version of the game yet.
If you’re looking to bet on Metaverse, and think you’re late to the party, don’t go investing into nonsense projects that are solely based on hype. As the metaverse hype dies down, those projects that don’t offer a true metaverse experience for their users will simply die out. Decentraland makes for a great long-term pick, as 2022 is looking to be a great year for crypto and especially the Metaverse.
