What Is Bitcoin Pizza Day?

With the upcoming annual celebration of Bitcoin Pizza Day, it will be exciting to see what types of community efforts one can expect. Several Meetup Groups will get together on this joyous occasion to celebrate the world’s first ever transaction in Bitcoin. Besides, most people like pizza, so we might as well eat one to celebrate, right?

Bitcoin Pizza Day Is Almost Upon Us!

Every year on May 22nd, Bitcoin has its very own day of celebrations, known as Bitcoin Pizza Day. As the name suggest, this is the date on which the very first Bitcoin transaction for physical goods was recorded in the history books. Someone paid 10,000 Bitcoin for two pizzas many years ago, at a time during which Bitcoin had little to no value to anyone else but the most enthusiastic of enthusiasts.

Although there is no official global celebration or conference on this date, a lot of Bitcoin enthusiasts celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day in their own way. The most obvious way of doing so is by eating pizza, paid for in Bitcoin. However, that may be a lot easier said than done in some countries, depending on where one lives.

Anyone who can order from takeaway.com will have no issues whatsoever to celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day the way it was meant to be. Ordering a pizza online and paying for it with Bitcoin is the primary goal on this day, and takeaway.com gives cryptocurrency users in various countries a platform to do exactly that.

But there are other options available as well. Bitcoin enthusiasts can purchase a gift card of their favorite pizza places with Bitcoin through sites such as Gyft, Crypto de Change, and Cardcash. All of these platforms offer gift cards in either physical or digital form, which can then be used to order online or eat at a local pizza place. Plus, these cards make great gifts as well, as everyone should celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day.

In the end, there is nothing better than getting together with friends and family to celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day. Find a local Meetup near you and attend their Pizza Day event. Not only will you get to know a lot of new people, but you will also learn more about Bitcoin and why this day in history is of such great importance to this ecosystem.
