U.S. Congressman to take part in the DC Blockchain Summit

Slowly, but surely, bitcoin is earning the attention of governments from all around the world. One of the main factors helping this process is the wide variety of Bitcoin-related events and conferences being held, such as the DC Blockchain Summit.

In fact, recent reports indicate that at the event, which will be organized by the Chamber of Digital Commerce, an interesting speaker will be a part of the line-up. U.S House of Representatives member, David Schweikert, will be addressing the community at the event. This is the first time when a member of the Congress addresses the public at a crypto-event in DC.

Together with this, the line-up of speakers also includes other non-political, government officials such as a lawyer with the Federal Trade Commission, an FBI intelligence analyst, alongside with prominent members of the bitcoin community such as the Senior Vice President and Director at IBM Research and more. Attendees will also include representatives from Capital One, American Express, NASDAQ, the Royal Bank of Canada and more.

In a recent press statement, Perianne Boring, the President of the Chamber of Digital Commerce stated that “We are bringing together key thought leaders from industry, technology and government in order to create a unique and focused dialogue on blockchain public policy and industry standards“.
