A lot of Americans are looking to buy an electric car now or in the near future. Ongoing advancements and developments in this industry make these vehicles a lot more appealing. Consumers looking for an electric car with the most range will have a few intriguing options to choose from. Rest assured further progress will be made in this regard.
Audi E-Tron
Audi is one of the most renowned car manufacturers in the world. When electric cars started gaining in popularity, the company quickly drew up plans to build several models. To date, the E-Tron model has proven to be somewhat popular, primarily because it can go up to 258 miles on a full charge. It is a five-passenger SUV which has a rather steep price tag, but that is the price to pay for such a luxurious vehicle.
Hyundai Kona Electric
Most Hyundai models tend to look both intriguing and attractive, even without knowing what goes on under the hood. The company’s new model for 2019, dubbed the Kona Electric, is an SUV which can achieve a distance of up to 258 miles under ideal conditions. It is also one of the cheaper models in this range on the market, although the price can still hit the $30,000 mark. Competition is heating up among electric cars in the SUV department, which will ultimately benefit consumers across the US.
Tesla Model X
When it comes to finding electric cars with a more than acceptable range, Tesla’s models tend to check a lot of the right boxes. As far as its Model X is concerned, there is a good chance owners will be able to drive 295 miles before having to charge their vehicle. Do keep in mind there are two different models, which are separated by an estimated 6 miles in total driving distance. It remains one of the best-selling electric cars in the US to date, primarily because the federal tax credit will be gone later this year.
Tesla Model 3
It is rather evident Tesla is primarily competing with itself as far as electric cars are concerned. Not entirely surprising either, as all of its models tend to offer something future car owners are looking for. The Model 3 is the first non-SUV on this list, as it is a sedan model. With up to 310 miles on a charge, it trumps the Model X in that department. There is also a slightly more affordable model which settles for a range of up to 260 miles.
Tesla Model S
The king of the hill in terms of achievable travel distance on a full charge is none other than the Tesla Model S. Although it is expected some competitors will release models which can go past this model’s 335 miles, it may take some time until that happens. This is the second and final sedan model on this list. The cheaper version achieves a range of 315 miles, which is still more than respectable given some other models on this list.
