Top 4 Ways to Buy Bitcoin Anonymously

As bitcoin continues to gain popularity, a lot of people are looking for ways to obtain cryptocurrency. Some users would like to stay as anonymous as possible while doing so which can be a bit of a challenge. Several companies have acknowledged the need to buy bitcoin anonymously and created a few solutions to address these problems. Do keep in mind some of these solutions may invoke higher costs than normal.

4. Bitcoin ATMs

One of the more obvious choices to buy bitcoin anonymously is by using a bitcoin ATM. Although these devices are a bit spread out all over the world, it can be worth the trip to maintain anonymity. In most cases, this means users can only buy a very small amount of cryptocurrency until the machine will ask for verification. It is a convenient way to exchange cash to BTC without much friction, though.

3. Prepaid Vouchers to Bitcoin

A few bitcoin exchange platforms around the world have specialized in converting existing prepaid vouchers to BTC in exchange for a small fee. This type of activity is gaining traction in Europe, although other services can be found in different parts of the world. It is equally possible to buy bitcoin gift cards from several platforms, all of which are pre-loaded with a bitcoin balance already.

2. LocalBitcoins

Perhaps the most obvious solution would be to use the LocalBitcoins platform. Unlike traditional exchanges, LocalBitcoins connects buyers and sellers with each other. Once a buyer and seller agree to terms, they can then make the payment for said amount of cryptocurrency. In a lot of cases, this means bitcoin will change hands in exchange for a cash payment.

LocalBitcoins is not the only peer-to-peer bitcoin trading platform in existence, but it is by far the largest. Any wallet service or peer-to-peer platform will allow users to maintain some degree of anonymity, as the buyer and seller only share as much or as little personal information as they feel necessary.

1. Purse.io

It may come as a surprise to a lot of people, yet Purse.io is an effective way to buy bitcoin anonymously. Purse is not a direct bitcoin exchange platform by any means, nor are they specialized in peer-to-peer trading. Instead, they incorporate Amazon Wish Lists as a way to find people who are looking to obtain cryptocurrency. A nifty way to combining the best of Amazon and cryptocurrency into one useful platform.

The way Purse works allows bitcoin buyers to remain anonymous when purchasing an item off someone’s wish list. Bitcoin sellers are protected as well, as the buyer will never see the delivery address for that specific order. It is important to keep in mind Purse usually comes with a high premium price to buy bitcoin, which can quickly add up to 20% or more.
