It’s no doubt that Coinbase represents one of the world’s most popular Bitcoin exchanges. In fact, recent reports indicate that they’re continuing their expansion process by offering their services to more regions of the United States.
The Coinbase exchange is now available in Florida and Virginia as of yesterday, which is great news for the bitcoin communities in the two regions. While the trading amount if currently low due to insufficient advertising of the change, an increase should be spotted sometime next week, once the news hits about this implementation.
Due to the United States’ complicate legislature, it can turn out to be quite difficult to officially register as a bitcoin exchange, which is why some companies prefer to offer their services outside the US, rather than having to register in each state, just like they would in a country.
While the Coinbase wallet is available throughout the US, their USD wallet can only be accessed in stated where Coinbase has managed to gain their license to engage in money transmission. According to a recent post on Coinbase’s blog, they are looking forward to expanding to other states in the future as well. Currently, the exchange is available in a total of 43 US states.
Based on everything that has been outlined so far, what do you personally think about Coinbase’s expansion? How about the exchange itself? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
