Bio Protocol, a pioneer in the decentralized science (DeSci) sector, launched today with an impressive trading volume surpassing $1 billion.
$BIO has become the first DeSci token to break the $1 billion market cap barrier, signaling a potential breakout for the sector. At these levels, many believe it’s still early for investors to gain exposure to this burgeoning space.
Two hours ago, the wallet xinanko.eth, identified by Arkham as belonging to Sigil Fund’s CIO Fiskantes, transferred 6.54 million $BIO tokens (valued at $4.77 million) to Binance. These tokens were initially acquired during the public offering at an average price of $0.04. With $BIO now trading at $0.74, the move represents an 18x return, equating to a $4.5 million profit.
$BIO: The Safest Bet in DeSci
Described as the “index fund for science-based DAOs,” $BIO offers exposure to a basket of DAOs that actively participate in the science and research space. This makes it a safer and more diversified play for those looking to invest in DeSci’s potential.
1. $RSC: Developed by ResearchHub and co-founded by Coinbase’s Brian Armstrong, $RSC aims to revolutionize the peer review process by rewarding scientists for reviewing papers.
2. $LAKE: Backed by strong partnerships, including the European Union, $LAKE is working to bring health data onto the blockchain.
With Binance launching $BIO and the DeSci narrative taking shape, this sector is poised for growth. Early investments in tokens like $BIO could offer significant opportunities as the space matures.
