Bitcoin airdrops are a great way to get cryptocurrency into the hands of students in a particular region. Since most students are also part of the Millennials demographic, it seems to be a matter of time until they look into Bitcoin. Blockchain Education Network will bring a Bitcoin airdrop to Chicago on September 24.
Four Chicago Universities On The Bitcoin Agenda
The Blockchain Education Network continues the good work of spreading the word on Bitcoin. Targeting universities all over the US and Canada is a great way to grow the cryptocurrency ecosystem. People need to be made aware of alternative payment options, particularly in this day and age of high fees and lack of privacy.
A total of four different universities in the Chicago area will be seeing a Bitcoin airdrop later today. The University of Chicago, Illinois Tech, DePaul, and the University of Illinois at Chicago can expect their students to receive an explanation on Bitcoin wallets, as well as some free coins. We can only hope the majority of recipients won’t squander this gift, like what happened over at MIT a few years ago.
It is also worth noting that there will be a special Bitcoin broadcast day on the Blockchain Education Network radio. People from all over the world can tune in via the Internet, and listeners will be kept up-to-date on how the events are going. Moreover, there will be a trivia game where listeners can win free bitcoins.
The whole day will close at the Illinois Tech premises, where there will be a Bitcoin 101 event at 8:30 PM. There is no need to RSVP for this event, and anyone can join the group at the John T Rettalia Center in room 104. During this introductory class attendees will learn more about Bitcoin and how to spend cryptocurrency without converting it to US Dollar right away.
It is good to see the Bitcoin airdrops continue across main universities in North America. Similar events should be organized in Europe, Asia, and more importantly, South America and Africa. Bitcoin can make a big impact in developing regions, whereas the developed world will shrug at the idea of cryptocurrency.
